S&P Dow Jones licensed the index on Hyperliquid blockchain. What does it change for traders?

S&P Dow Jones Indices licensed its flagship index to TradeXYZ, which launched the first officially approved S&P 500 perpetual futures on the Hyperliquid blockchain.
Non-US traders can now trade S&P 500 with leverage, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No weekend breaks, no time restrictions.
Key differences vs traditional futures:
Prop trading firms may start offering on-chain instruments in the future. This would open an entirely new category of funded accounts with access to DeFi markets.
On-chain markets are still less liquid than traditional exchanges. Slippage may be higher, and smart contract risk is an additional factor to consider.
Nevertheless, the direction is clear - traditional finance and DeFi are merging, and traders gain new opportunities.
